Why No Single Number Tells the Whole Story
One of the most important things to understand about bloodwork is that veterinarians never interpret values in isolation.
A slightly elevated liver enzyme may not be concerning on its own.
A mildly elevated kidney value may simply reflect dehydration.
A high glucose value may be related to stress rather than diabetes.
The real value of bloodwork comes from evaluating patterns and combining those findings with the physical exam, medical history, and additional diagnostics.
